WHO WE ARE
PARENTS AND CARERS WORKING TOGETHER
The FFH is run by volunteer parents, carers and family members at Highfields Independent School and Day Nursery and supported by a host of Event Sub-Committee Members, Class Representatives and Volunteers.

Each and every member generously donates their time, skills, creativity and energy to help enrich our school and community.

If you are interested in leading or joining an Event Sub-Committee or volunteering for any of our events and activities, we would be delighted to hear from you!
HOW DOES THE FFH WORK?
The FFH Committee Members are elected at the FFH AGM at the starat of each school year to manage FFH on behalf of all Members.
There are two types of Committee members: Trustees and Ordinary members.
Trustees have specific roles, such as Chair, Treasurer or Secretary and have a legal duty to ensure that FFH acts lawfully and is managed properly.

Ordinary Committee Members are vital in working alongside and supporting the Trustees.
WHY JOIN THE FFH?
6 reasons to support the FFH
FUN
Joining a group of like-minded people who work together to deliver positive improvements to the school through social events and activities is not only rewarding but great fun too.
RESPECT
Volunteering for events and spending time at the school gives you the opportunity to get to know your child's teachers, learn how the school works and to better understand the problems, challenges and joys our school team find in their work.
VALUE
Yes, we all pay school fees, but we also know that all school budgets are tight. The funds raised by the FFH help to make Highfields even more special.
LOVE
Most children (especially the younger ones), really love having their parents involved with the school, sharing in their experience and showing interest in their schooling.
IMPROVEMENT
The FFH is inclusive and we are always looking for ideas and volunteers prepared to work on new fundraisers and events. We want to do better, year after year
FRIENDSHIPS
Actively participating in the FFH helps you to get to know other parents and pupils at Highfields. This in turn helps you to develop wider and deeper friendships with other parents and their children.
FFH TRUSTEES
Trustees have independent control over, and legal responsibility for the FFH's management and administration.
They play a very important role, always unpaid, in delivering on the key responsibilities and commitment that the FFH makes to Highfields Independent School and Day Nursery.

FFH MONTHLY MEETINGS
We meet on the first Monday of each month via a Teams Call. Our meetings start at 8 pm and take less than an hour. You do not need to be on the committee to attend meetings. Likewise, you do not need to attend meetings to be involved in FFH events.

The committee includes parents and carers with particular interests or related skills for the proposed event.

VOLUNTEERS
Many of our parents and carers do not have the time to commit to the FFH Committee, Sub-Committee and Class Representative roles. Instead, our parents volunteer on an event-to-event basis depending on their personal schedules.

Event Volunteers are the life force of the FFH and we couldn't deliver our events without their support. Please join us!
